This policy explains how E Pay GROUP [Pty] Ltd [Registration No. ____________] (“ZapNet”, “we”), as Responsible Party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), processes your personal information.

1. What we collect

2. How we use it

To provide, bill, and manage your WiFi access and wallet.
To enforce one-device-per-session and fair-use limits.
To secure the network and investigate misuse.
To comply with legal obligations, including RICA retention and lawful requests from authorities.
To send service-related communications (e.g. your WiFi password).

3. Legal basis

We process your information to perform our contract with you (providing WiFi), to comply with the law, for our legitimate interests in operating a secure network, and with your consent where required.

4. Sharing

We share information only with: the E Pay group for wallet and payment processing; our payment partners; the independent hotspot owner only to the extent needed to operate their site (not your password); and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and thereafter only as required for legal, accounting, or RICA purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Security

Passwords are stored using one-way hashing. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights under POPIA

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary information.
Object to processing in certain circumstances.
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
